With all of the distractions that we deal with in our day-to-day lives have you ever recently stopped and asked yourself… “What happened to this world?” We here at T.B.L have been noticing some trends that well, have us on high alert to say the least. Have any of you watched any regular television lately for example? If so, Have you begun to notice that what was once good is now considered bad and what was bad is now good? If so we are here to tell you that you are not alone!
Let’s take a look at the television show Lucifer for starters….
Lucifer is the devil right? (Correct me if I am wrong but I think that is what the KJV said.) Then why in the world are the writers trying to make him seem like he is the “good guy” and it does’nt stop there…they are also trying to make him (get this) lovable! Really!? Satan is far from good and lovable. You may be thinking, “So what, it’s a TV show”, but think about this… Our children, the youth that are going to grow up and become the next generation of Presidents and World Leaders, are watching EVERYTHING and learning from this.
So our stance on it is that while yes, “It may be just a TV show” However, it still gives our youth the image as well as a message that what is good is bad, and what is bad is good. (Confusing? We’ll imagine yourself as a 13yr old adolescent and THEN try to make sense of it!) Some may think this is about religion but on the contrary, that is not exactly what this entirely about. (however religious roots DO dig deep under a few layers of the hidden Agenda behind it all) This is for the most part about right and wrong, good and evil, that never-ending battle old as time itself between light and dark. Most parents do not know what their kids are watching on TV, let alone what message(s) that they are taking away from it. (Let’s not even get started on cartoons or this will be a book and not an article ^ ^)
Another trend we have noticed is EVERYTHING is becoming dark and (dare I say) borderline *sadistic*.
Have you watched the trailer for the new X-men movie, “The New Mutants“?, it is so dark. (Cartoons are no better mind you)… We realize that a large portion of the population does not practice religion, In fact , some do not believe in a *Monotheistic* God (or ANY God for that matter), but one thing that WE ALL should agree upon is that right is right, wrong is wrong, evil is evil, and good is good…Do any of you remember a story that was put up at the beginning of this year about a Dark Angel?
